Since the release of Connection Suite version 2.38 onwards, the Dualog ESET Antivirus solution has been completely overhauled.
If your ship is already equipped with an older version of the Dualog ESET Antivirus, you will need to uninstall every instance of the Dualog ESET Antivirus from every PC on board, including the Dualog PC, in order to install the new, improved version.
|Connection Suite version 2.38 or later installed on the Dualog PC. The current version number is visible on the main Dualog Connection Suite login page.|
|Antivirus Server installer file (usually named "Dualog_Antivirus_Server_Installer_(version)) to be installed on the Dualog PC.|
|A valid ESET base update package (usually named base-(version)) available on the Dualog PC.|
SERVER INSTALL PROCEDURE
The Dualog ESET Server installer has two features. It will copy the Antivirus Client installer and extract and copy the ESET base update package into the Connection Suite installation folder. This installer is compatible with both 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows and has no uninstaller, as it only copies ﬁles into an existing Connection installation.
Double-click on the Dualog Antivirus Server Installer icon on the Dualog PC to initiate the "Dualog Antivirus Server Setup Wizard"
When prompted to select where the antivirus base file is located, click on the "Browse" button and navigate to the location where the file is stored, select the file and press "Next".
An overview of the chosen parameters will appear on screen. Click on the "Install" button to confirm. The following sequence will copy the Antivirus Client installer and extract and copy the ESET base update package into the Connection Suite installation folder. This installer will generate no uninstaller, as it only copies ﬁles into an existing Connection installation.
Once the installation is completed, a dialogue window will confirm that the installation has been successful.
If you want to proceed and install the Antivirus Client, click on the "Finish" button. It is possible to untick the "Install Dualog Antivirus Client" option and complete the installation at a later time. Bear in mind that, in order to have the Antivirus work on this computer, the Client must be installed.
- CLIENT INSTALL PROCEDURE
If "Install Dualog Antivirus Client" is checked when pressing "Finish" in the Server Setup Wizard, then the Client Setup Wizard will automatically open. Press "Next" to continue.
Next, the location of the Antivirus Client can be chosen. Press the "Browse" button to choose a suitable folder. In most cases, this will be left as default. Press "Next" to continue.
The next step is choosing the folder where the weekly antivirus update files will be stored. The default location will normally be used. Press "Next" to continue.
The next step of the installation is choosing whether to perform a silent installation or to see the full interactive user interface for the installer. Press "Next" to continue.
TAKE NOTE! This option MUST be enabled on "Windows Server" Operating Systems in order to successfully complete the installation.
Next, an option will appear where it will be possible to block access to USB/FireWire storage on the computer. It is not important to choose now, this option can be manually enabled or disabled at a later stage.
Press "Install" to start the installation. It will run until its finished and continue to the next page automatically.
The installation of the Antivirus is now finished. Press "Finish" to close the Setup Wizard.
After the installation is complete, the "ESET Endpoint Antivirus" dashboard will automatically display and prompt with the "Product activation" page. Press "Offline License" and then browse to the Windows Documents folder for the current logged in user, locate the license file named "DualogESETLicense.lf" and open it to reveal the License Key to be inserted in the Activation window.
The client has now been activated and the installation is finished.
Keep in mind that the "Device Control" will be red and Non-functional until the computer has been restarted.
