[Ship] Selling of additional quota

INTRODUCTION

The Quota Purchase is subjected to the Company Policy and the purchase of quota request from the Crew Member needs to be submitted to the Captain who will be given the rights to perform the purchase.

This article provides the detailed instructions on the following sections:

  • How to sell quota on the captain's side
  • What is discount price
  • Transaction History
  • Verify purchased quota on the crew's side

REQUIREMENTS

redirect.gif Write access to Quota - Purchase for Crew on the user-group permissions level.

 

HOW TO SELL QUOTA (CAPTAIN)

  1. Login to ship Dualog Connection Suite with an appropriate account (Usually, it is the Master or main account that would be given the access.)
  2. Click on the Top Left corner Hamburger button> click on Sell quotamceclip0.png
  3. All registered crews onboard would be shown, where the captain may select the individual crew(s) that require an additional quota.mceclip4.png
  4. Enter the value for top-up and discount price (optional)  > Click on Purchase top-up.mceclip3.png
  5. Upon a successful purchase, the overview for the selected crew would be updated and reflected.

The overview contains information about your maximum allowed purchase value per month, purchased amount thus far, and the current balance you may spend on Internet access. In this example, you may purchase for a maximum of 100 USD per month.

 

DISCOUNT PRICE

The discounted price is the final price that both the captain and crew member have agreed on.

For example - A crew may purchase 30 USD worth of quota but only charge with an actual 20 USD pricing. This value would be reflected under the transaction history as well.

TRANSACTION HISTORY

The Transaction History contains information about which Crew Member had purchased Quota on Internet access. In this example, you can check the Quotas that were purchased by the Crew Member and on which date it is being purchased.

  1. Login to ship Dualog Connection Suite with an appropriate account (Usually, it is the Master or main account that would be given the access.)
  2. Click on the Top Left corner Hamburger button> click on Sell quota
  3. Click on Transaction History to view all completed transactions for the month. (You may select and view the past transactions for the respective months as well.)

HOW TO VERIFY PURCHASED QUOTA (CREW)

Below is an example of what the Crew Member will see when their Quota Purchase has been purchased successfully.

  1. On the URL of a web browser, type <Dualog Server's IP Address>/IPCONTROL > hit enter to access the Captive Portal.

The appropriate Dualog Server's IP address would have to be used, depending on which network is the device or machine currently on (Example: Crew Wifi, Business LAN)
