INTRODUCTION
Dualog Identity provides comprehensive logging of authentication events and user activity. This helps administrators monitor security, troubleshoot issues, and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
WHAT GETS LOGGED
Authentication Events
- Successful logins
- Failed login attempts
- Password changes
- MFA enrollment and verification
Ship-Side Activity
When activity logging is enabled for ship integrations:
- All logins on the ship-side identity server
- IMAP and SMTP commands
- Dualog Ship UI configuration changes
ACCESSING USER ACTIVITY
Overview Dashboard
- Log in to
https://apps.dualog.com - Navigate to Ship Staff
- Click on the User Activity tab
The overview displays key metrics about authentication activity across your organization.
Detailed Activity Dashboard
For deeper analysis:
- From the User Activity tab, click View all user activity
- A new tab opens with the comprehensive activity dashboard
Dashboard Features
The detailed dashboard allows you to:
- Filter by date range: View activity for specific time periods
- Filter by user: Search for specific user activity
- Filter by event type: Focus on specific event types (logins, failures, etc.)
- Filter by vessel: View activity from specific ships
- Search: Find specific events or patterns
ENABLING ACTIVITY LOGGING FOR SHIP INTEGRATIONS
By default, ship-side authentication events are logged. For additional logging of specific integrations:
- When creating or editing a ship OIDC integration
- Enable the Log user activity option
- Save the integration
This logs all authentication events for that specific application.
USE CASES
Security Monitoring
Detect suspicious activity:
- Multiple failed login attempts for a single user
- Logins from unusual locations or IP addresses
- Off-hours authentication attempts

- Trace user activity during a specific time period
- Identify which systems a user accessed

User cannot log in:

TROUBLESHOOTING
No activity showing for a vessel
- Verify the vessel has connectivity
- Activity syncs from ships when connected
- Check if activity logging is enabled for ship integrations
Cannot find specific user activity
- Try different date ranges
- Search by email address
- Check if the user exists in the system
Dashboard not loading
- Clear browser cache
- Try a different browser
- Contact Dualog support if issue persists
