  • Your organization has been provisioned for Dualog Identity

ACCESSING THE DUALOG PORTAL

KEY AREAS FOR IDENTITY MANAGEMENT

The Ship Staff section is where you manage all user-related functions:

  • Create and manage crew accounts
  • Import users via CSV
  • Configure password policies
  • Enable MFA settings
  • View user activity logs

To access Integrations, navigate to https://apps.dualog.com/integrations

INITIAL CONFIGURATION STEPS

Step 1: Configure Password Policy

Before adding users, set your organization's password requirements:

  1. Go to Ship Staff
  2. Click the Settings tab
  3. Scroll to the Password policy settings section
  4. Configure the following options:
    • Minimum password length: Set the minimum number of characters (minimum 8)
    • Require uppercase: Optionally require at least one uppercase letter (A-Z)
    • Require numeric: Optionally require at least one number (0-9)
    • Require special character: Optionally require at least one special character ($, #, %, etc.)
  5. Save your changes

Step 2: Configure MFA Settings

Decide whether to require multi-factor authentication for your organization:

  1. In Ship Staff, click the Settings tab
  2. Scroll to the Authentication settings section
  3. Configure the following options:
    • Require multi-factor authentication by default: When enabled, all users must use MFA unless manually disabled on their account
    • Self-service password reset via SMS: Allow users to reset their password using SMS verification
    • Self-service password reset via personal email: Allow users to reset their password using their personal email
    • Allow email address reminders: Let users retrieve their email address by entering their phone number
  4. Save your changes

Step 3: Add Your First Users

You can add users in several ways:

  • Manual creation: Add users one at a time through the UI
  • CSV import: Bulk import users from a spreadsheet
  • API integration: Programmatically sync users from external systems
  • CMS integration: Automatically sync from your crew management system

For detailed instructions, see Managing Users.

Step 4: Set Up Your First Integration

Once you have users, configure your first application integration:

UNDERSTANDING THE SYNC PROCESS

Changes made in the Dualog Portal sync to vessels within minutes when they have connectivity. This includes:

  • New and updated user accounts
  • Password policy changes
  • Access policies
  • OIDC configurations

The ship-side identity server works fully offline, so crew can always authenticate to onboard systems even without an internet connection. Changes will sync the next time the vessel connects. For information on setting up the ship-side identity server, see Ship-Side Identity Server.
