Dualog Endpoint - Installation and Activation

INTRODUCTION

This procedure provides the step by step instructions on both the installation and activation of Dualog Endpoint.

PRE-REQUISITES

Ensure that Dualog Link and the Dualog Endpoint Service are installed and running on the machine.

Configure Firewall Rules

Make sure your firewall allows the following traffic:

Protocol: TCP
Ports: 2222, 2223, 443
Direction: Inbound and outbound

Destinations:
apps.dualog.com
downloads.dualog.com
93.188.232.76
 

If you are using the Dualog Network Control service, you can add these rules directly in the Dualog Portal. For more guidance, refer to the Network Control: Firewall Rules article.

Download Dualog Endpoint

To download the latest Dualog Endpoint installer:

  1. Sign in to apps.dualog.com
  2. Navigate to Endpoint in the left-hand menu
  3. Open the Download tab
  4. Scroll down to find the download links.

MANUAL INSTALLATION

  1. Ensure that both the Dualog Link and Dualog Endpoint Service have been installed and activated on the machine.
  2. Run the Endpoint installer on the machine you want to protect with Dualog Endpoint.

  3. If the legacy Dualog Antivirus solution is installed, select “I want to uninstall incompatible security products”, then click Continue
  4. Once the uninstall process is complete, click Continue again
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the Dualog Endpoint installation

  6. Upon a successful installation, ESET Endpoint Security will be launched automatically

AUTOMATIC INSTALLATION

  1. Ensure that the Dualog Link has been installed and activated on the machine.
  2. Under the installation tab of the Dualog Endpoint Security on the Dualog Portal, enable ESET Cloud Deployment.
  3. 93.188.232.75 and TCP port 443 must be allowed or whitelisted on the firewall or ATP level.

  4. Dualog Endpoint will be deployed and installed silently in the background.
  5. Upon a successful installation, ESET Endpoint Security will be launched automatically

ACTIVATION

If all required whitelisting is in place, product license activation and updates will begin automatically once the machine is detected by the shore servers.

If communication between the ESET Management Agent on the client machine and the ESET shore server is blocked, activation may fail. In such cases, the server will be unable to locate, control, or activate the machine within ESET.

The standard port used for this connection is TCP 2222.

IMPORTANT:

Please also ensure that the Trusted Network configuration has been reviewed and configured accordingly for the newly-installed vessel.

SHORE STATUS

All machines installed with Dualog ESET Endpoint Security will be displayed on the Dualog Portal, where both monitoring and configurations can be performed.
