Dualog Endpoint - Installation and Activation

INTRODUCTION

This procedure provides the step by step instructions on both the installation and activation of Dualog Endpoint.

PRE-REQUISITES

  1. Ensure that the Dualog Link and Dualog Endpoint Service have been installed and activated on the machine.
  2.  Configure firewall rules
    Ensure that you have configured your firewall to allow:

    Protocol: TCP
    Ports: 2222, 2223, 443
    Direction: to and from
    Destination: apps.dualog.com, downloads.dualog.com and 93.188.232.76 


    If you use the Dualog Network Control service, the rule can be added directly to the Dualog Portal. Refer to the article Network Control: Firewall Rules if you should need extra assistance.
  3. Download the Dualog Endpoint installers here, according to the machine's OS: 

Important: If Endpoint is to be installed on workstations running on Windows 7 Desktop or Windows Server 2008 R2, a patch will need to be applied.

FOR EXISTING CUSTOMERS ON ANTIVIRUS 6.5

The procedure below will uninstall the obsolete Antivirus ESET 6.5 if present on the machine. This means that there is no need to manually uninstall ESET 6.5 before installing Dualog Endpoint.

MANUAL INSTALLATION

  1. Ensure that both the Dualog Link and Dualog Endpoint Service have been installed and activated on the machine.
  2. Run the Endpoint installer on the machine that requires to be protected with Dualog Endpoint
  3. Check the box "I want to uninstall incompatible security products" if the legacy Dualog Antivirus solution is present on the machine and click on Continue.
  4. Click on Continue once the uninstall procedure is completed.
  5. Complete the Dualog Endpoint installation process.

  6. Upon a successful installation, ESET Endpoint Security will be launched automatically

AUTOMATIC INSTALLATION

  1. Ensure that the Dualog Link has been installed and activated on the machine.
  2. Under the installation tab of the Dualog Endpoint Security on the Dualog Portal, enable ESET Cloud Deployment.
  3. 93.188.232.75 and TCP port 443 must be allowed or whitelisted on the firewall or ATP level.

  4. Dualog Endpoint will be deployed and installed silently in the background.
  5. Upon a successful installation, ESET Endpoint Security will be launched automatically

ACTIVATION

If all whitelisting is in place, the product license activation and updates will commence automatically upon being detected by the shore servers.

If connectivity between the ESET Management Agent on the client machine and the ESET shore server is blocked, the activation could fail. Our server won't be able to control or activate the machine if the communication is blocked since it won't be able to locate it in ESET.
The standard port for this connection is 2222.

IMPORTANT:

Please also ensure that the Trusted Network configuration has been reviewed and configured accordingly for the newly-installed vessel.

SHORE STATUS

All machines installed with Dualog ESET Endpoint Security would be displayed on the Dualog Portal, where both monitoring and configurations can be performed.
