Dualog Endpoint - Error code 1603 during installation

INTRODUCTION

When installing ESET Endpoint on a Windows device, ESET fails to install with the error code 1603.

EXPLANATION

According to ESET documentation, this could be caused by the following factors:

  1. A previous failed installation.
  2. Remnants of a previous installation in your system.

If the ESET troubleshooting steps in the link above do not resolve your issue, our own findings suggest that you can also encounter this error message whilst attempting to install ESET Endpoint onto an operating system that isn't fully supported. To check if your version of Windows is supported for the version of ESET Endpoint you are attempting to install, refer to the ESET Operating System Support Charts.

If required, run windows update to update your system to a supported version, reboot, and then re-attempt installation.

If you are unable to update your windows environment to a supported version, install an older version of ESET Endpoint that is supported by your version of Windows. Depending on the version you are installing, you will continue to receive antivirus definition and engine updates as per the ESET Product Support page.
