How to perform an IMAP restore

INTRODUCTION

In the event of a Dualog server replacement or migration, email restoration is essential on the newly-installed Dualog server.

The following document serves as a guide to perform an IMAP restore on both ship Connection Suite version 3.0 and 3.10.

PREREQUISITE

Ensure that you have a valid IMAP backup, by having at least the following files:

  • imapmailstore.dualogbackup.archive
  • imapmailstore.dualogbackup0

If the backup contains several GB of mail you should have more than just the two files above. This is an example of a regular IMAP backup of decent size:

IMAP BACKUP RESTORE (CONNECTION SUITE VER 3.10)

  1. Login to Dualog Connection Suite
  2. Click on the menu located on the top left corner > Admin Panel > IMAP Backup > Restore Backup
  3. Specify the full directory where the above files are stored, specifically the .archive file (Example: C:\backup\imapmailstore.dualogbackup.archive)
  4. Select the available backup option or specify the full directory manually > Restore Backup
  5. The IMAP service will proceed with the unpacking and restoring in the background, where the progress will be reflected as well.

IMAP BACKUP RESTORE (CONNECTION SUITE VER 3.0)

  1. Login to Dualog Connection Suite
  2. Click on the menu located on the top left corner > Technical Setup > IMAP Backup > Restore Backup
  3. Specify the full directory where the above files are stored, specifically the .archive file (Example: C:\backup\imapmailstore.dualogbackup.archive)
  4. After you have specified the full backup directory, click on "Restore Backup" to start restoring the IMAP backup.
  5. The IMAP service will proceed with the unpacking and restoring in the background, where emails may start appearing in the inbox gradually.
