Dualog Drive - Typical Use Cases

Dualog Drive has two types of tasks that can be configured; Sync and Move tasks.

Each task type serves a different purpose and functions differently. A quick breakdown of some of the use cases you may use each task type for is shared below. There is also a short video to help illustrate these concepts better.

Sync Tasks

Dualog Drive Sync Tasks ensure that data in a configured source and destination are kept in sync. You can define tasks as one-to-many, one-to-one, or many-to one, depending on the complexity of your data sharing needs.

Some typical use cases may include ensuring certificates, safety documentation or IT repositories are up-to-date between your office file servers and one or more of your vessels. Other use cases may include sharing CCTV snapshots or hull inspection videos from your vessels back to your main office.

Move Tasks

Dualog Drive Move tasks take data dropped into the source specified, and distribute that data to the configured destination(s). Dualog Drive Move tasks are generally used for daily operations to avoid sending files via email. Various departments at your office may have a SharePoint of folder repository configured that they will drop files into to send to vessels, or vice-versa to send data from vessels to your office.

Typical use cases include sending updates and patches for software, and planned maintenance system files to ensure safe and reliable vessel operations.
