Introduction
The Dualog Drive SharePoint integration enables data synchronization between SharePoint and Drive clients. It allows data to be transferred from SharePoint to Drive clients, as well as from Drive clients back to SharePoint.
This integration does not provide two-way synchronization, nor does it establish a direct connection between Drive clients and SharePoint. All interaction is handled through the Dualog Cloud.
How It Works – Overview
With SharePoint integration in place, Drive clients only need to be installed onboard vessels. The Dualog Drive Cloud connects to SharePoint to:
- Collect data for distribution to ships
- Deliver data received from ships to SharePoint
It is important to note that this integration is intended only for using SharePoint as a source or destination. It does not replicate SharePoint’s full file-sharing capabilities.
Drive Cloud effectively replaces the office client by:
- Scanning configured SharePoint locations (drives/folders) for updates
- Distributing updates from ships to the configured SharePoint destinations
Configuration
Configuring Drive to use SharePoint requires multiple steps:
-
Azure Active Directory Configuration
In Azure AD, you will need to retrieve the required information and perform the necessary configuration changes.
-
Set Up SharePoint Integration
You can configure multiple SharePoint integrations for your organization. These configurations can then be used to enable Dualog Drive to use SharePoint as a source for Sync tasks.
-
Set Up SharePoint Connection
Configure Dualog Drive to connect to your SharePoint environment using the information obtained or created in the previous step.
-
Select SharePoint Drive
Choose the specific SharePoint Drive that Dualog Drive should use.
-
Configure Dualog Drive to Use SharePoint
Finally, configure Dualog Drive to use the selected SharePoint integration as a source or destination for Sync tasks.
