Dualog Connection Suite - Comm. Equipment Creation and Editing

INTRODUCTION

We've reintroduced the ability to create and edit communication equipment in Dualog Connection Suite version 3.10. This feature comes in handy for common scenarios like deploying new carriers, replacing existing ones, or adjusting IP settings.

Having functional communication equipment is vital for establishing cloud connections and facilitating email exchanges.

This article will guide you through the process of creating new equipment and editing existing ones.

It is important to note that the "Config - Communication Equipment" permission must be granted write access to the user group that will be performing the configurations onboard (under CS Group Settings).

NEW COMM. EQUIPMENT CREATION

1. Login to the ship Dualog Connection Suite onboard the vessel with the account with the appropriate access.
   
2. Click on the menu located on the top-left corner >Select Admin Panel under the Technical menu
3. Under Communication setup, click on Configure > Add equipment.
4. Select and fill in the necessary fields (By leaving the IP address of communication equipment blank, the system will follow the Windows default route/gateway)
5. Save and close
6. The newly-created equipment is now reflected in the overview of Communication Equipment.
7. Enable Automatic cloud connection (optional)

EDITING EXISTING COMM. EQUIPMENT

1. Login to the ship Dualog Connection Suite onboard the vessel with the account with the appropriate access.
   
2. Click on the menu located on the top-left corner >Select Admin Panel under the Technical menu
3. Under Communication setup, click on the existing comm. equipment > edit comm. equipment
   
4. The following fields can now be edited:
   • Equipment Name
   • Online Status (To disable or re-enable a comm. equipment)
   • The IP address of communication equipment
   • Dualog Gateway Address
5. Save and close

Alternatively, one may select Configure under the communication setup, followed by clicking on the triple vertical dots of the individual communication equipment for editing.
