Dualog Connection Suite - OracleXETNSListener could not be started

INTRODUCTION

To ensure proper functionality of the Dualog system, it is imperative that the OracleServiceXE and OracleXETNSListener services are running under services.msc.

Before installing the Dualog Connection Suite on a machine, it is necessary to change the computer name if required.

However, if this change is made after installation, the OracleXETNSListener may fail to start due to the old computer name being associated with relevant configuration files.

This article provides a step-by-step explanation of how to update the hostname in the relevant configuration files to address this issue.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Stop the following windows services under services.msc
   

   • • OracleServiceXE

     • OracleXETNSListener

2. Browse to C:\Dualog\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server\network\ADMIN

   
3. Open both listener.ora and tnsnames.ora using notepad
4. Update the highlighted value with the correct hostname on both files > Save changes
5. Start the following windows services under services.msc
   

   • • OracleServiceXE

     • OracleXETNSListener
